We have kids and we had to find some way of securing a home because money was coming in and rolling out without being saved.

Would you recommend buying a home with a Rent to Own? Why?
Yes, because in real life there are many people who are not able to save but live, work, pay rent and are able to adjust to financial changes because they have to. People can understand that and obviously a piece of paper or a computer cannot. Dianne and Drew are real people who understand real situations.
Would you recommend us to your friends or family? Why?
Yes because its a scenario where in the long term, every body wins. People who can't see the bigger picture should keep renting.

How did you find working with the solicitor we recommended?
Fantastic, I did most of it over the phone, she was so easy to talk to, was easy to find, I would recommend her for everyone. She was fantastic and her fees were about $825 which was quite good. She sent eveything out and told us read this section, read this section read this section, etc and gave us a full copy of everything which we didn’t get last time we bought a house, so I am very happy with how it all went.

Why did you decide to buy a home using the Rent to Own program?
We have move from overseas less than 3 months before, and we were renting a
very expensive house without some lights, leaks ... and even after the
tribunal told the landlady to fix it she ignored it. With this method you
can do your own work and improvements, knowing it will not go to the drain.
It feels like your own home. Mainly as we are temporarily resident in
Australia, if we buy a house here in Australia, it would be like investment,
therefore higher stamp duty, higher interest in the mortgage, 1 point, We
had the money , after we sold our house back in Ireland, but then we will be
paying more than a resident as a foreign investors, and not grant either.
All together was quite expensive in the long term.
Where did you find out about Rent to Own?
I was looking for houses to rent in the internet when I saw the add. I had
my reservations as it is a new way to buy the house. We don't have this back
in Europe (Ireland)
Was it easy?
Very easy. 1 week and everything was in place.
How did you find dealing with Dianne and Drew from Preloved Homes?
We have been dealing with Dianne for everything, and being new in the
country and knowing no one , it has been a real pleasure.
From looking to buy tiles, she recommended places very economic and good
quality to knowing about the community where we live.
Would you recommend Rent to Own to friends and family as a way to buy a
home?
Yes. Everyone has their own issues at the time to buy a home, some are
paperwork, some are economic. We were paperwork but economically make sense
as well, as you buy a house at the market price for 2007 and you pay few
years later at this fixed price minus the extra you have been paying during
the time without any regards of the interest rate increasing during this
period of time.
Would you recommend Preloved Homes to others? Why?
Yes, main reason they are honest. This method was new for us, we knew no one
in the country, at the beginning we were scared to invest part of our
savings without knowing the law, house market ... They were opened to the
questions and patience with us, they understood our concerns.
What does home ownership mean to you and your family?
We owned our house in Ireland which we sold just before we moved to
Australia. We were not used to be renting, and throwing away money for
renting and more important, the maintenance of a house for somebody who
would not respect us.
The time we were renting when we arrived in Australia, less than 3 months
were the worst for us ever, the market for renting was bad, we tried to
rent another property in good condition, living condition, even offered 150
$ more per week than asked, but the demand was so high that the rent was
higher than this arrangement. And at the end you do not get anything back.
Now means that whenever we sort out our permanent residency here in
Australia, we only need to go to the bank, get the mortgage at the normal
rate, get the first time buyers grant, and own the house we have been living
for the previous year, with your improvements (we have changed floors to
our taste), your decoration, your home.
